Dr. Atabak Allaei is a double board-certified physician in Vascular & Interventional Radiology and Diagnostic Radiology, with advanced training in both diagnostic imaging and minimally invasive image-guided treatment. He serves on staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills and UCI Health, and is the Medical Director of California Vascular & Interventional.

As a vascular and image-guided specialist, Dr. Allaei has extensive experience in a wide range of minimally invasive procedures, including arterial disease management, varicose vein treatment, kyphoplasty, chemoembolization, radioembolization, tumor ablation, thyroid procedures, fibroid and adenomyosis treatment, prostate artery embolization, musculoskeletal embolization, and other advanced image-guided interventions.

Recognized for his expertise in embolization and complex minimally invasive treatments, Dr. Allaei is respected for his technical skill, careful imaging evaluation, and ability to manage challenging cases. His dual board certification allows him to combine detailed diagnostic interpretation with precise procedural treatment — an important advantage when treating vascular, tumor-related, and organ-specific conditions.

Dr. Allaei has performed more than 5,000 image-guided procedures, giving him broad experience across many areas of interventional radiology. His areas of special interest include uterine fibroid embolization, prostate artery embolization, musculoskeletal embolization, vascular disease, and minimally invasive tumor treatments. This experience allows patients to receive advanced care in a specialized outpatient setting with a strong focus on safety, comfort, and outcomes.

Originally from San Diego, California, Dr. Allaei earned his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California, San Diego, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He later pursued breast cancer research before earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from the State University of New York. He completed residency training in New York, followed by fellowship training in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the prestigious Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University/Barnes-Jewish Medical Center.
